Of course, this is kind of a joke, but it really depends on a game and timings. LS doesn't get desolator against Sven, because why would you reduce 7 armor when you can reduce 20 with diffusal blade? Sven is really crippled by slows anyways. One of the biggest strengths LS has over Sven is also uptime on magic immunity, lvl4 rage has an insane uptime, which means that if Sven doesn't initially kill you you are very very likely to kill him.
Diffusal Blade rush on the position 1 carry. Now that Sven also depends on MoM. Dispelling him will remove his Warcry and MoM buff making him greatly less effective before BKB.
I wouldn't pick lifestealer vs sven just cus lifestealer isn't very good right now period. Sven will always be 1-2 items ahead of him unless he totally snowballs. Lifestealer is like a 46% win rate right now, sven is 54%.
Lifestealer can't farm for shit which is kind of his problem. He has to go mjollnir to keep up with all the flash farming carries but the problem is mjollnir isn't that great for his needs cus he also wants move speed from s&y, armor reduction from deso vs squishies so he can 2 shot them, echo sabre for same reasons, armlet cus he's just a good armlet carrier, and basher to man fight. Yeah 6 slotted lifestealer can man fight most carries but he won't get 6 slotted vs them. It's same arguments for 6 slotted dk, and it's the only thing keeping ck from being op cus he farms like garbage.
I would actually pick lifestealer vs ints with poor escapes that he can counter with rage and snowball off of. Like pugna, cm, shadow shaman, lion. Pugna can decryp himself but he's mostly food til he has aghs. Lifestealer can just rage all cm and ss stuff and kill them. Just make sure to snowball before they get force staff.

You don't counter Sven with cores generally. You counter him with supports. Sven is like the ultimate carry, he will kill anybody 1v1 or in a teamfight. The only cores I actually kinda like against him is WK or maybe Spectre, but they are really shit atm (not even picked at TI) so.
DK is also good actually. He has a good ranged stun, ranged slow, very high armor and HP. Necro can also be okay against Sven if you don't get jumped and die every single fight.
I didn't mean dk's bad vs sven, I meant dk, ck, lifestealer are all balanced by their piss poor farming abilites. Once 6 slotted they all get super scary but it's not realistic in a normal game.
For cores vs sven I love troll. He will make sven miss until sven gets bkb (sven probably won't get mkb), svens hate to rush bkb before like mom, blink, echo. He can keep up in farm with sven, I actually outfarm most pub svens on troll quite easily, he can kite him if he needs to with ranged whirling axes and skadi later, and all he needs to do is land one bash and he can keep him bashed 100%-0%. The only shot sven has it to jump him with blink and blow him up before troll gets a bash in, and that usually doesn't happen cus troll has extra 12 armor at 15 from talent and berserker form.
Spectre is ok, but she can't manfight him at all
Almost no carry can manfight a farmed Sven
U win against Sven by forcing him to switch targets and making it hard to hit people and making it difficult for him to find an opening.
Restricting his vision is good cuz he plays around his counters by initiating on them, if he doesn't know where u r, then u can always bail out ur team if he jumps on the wrong person, kinda like preventing the legion from dueling the dazzle/wyvern/od by preventing legion from knowing where u r. The other thing is Bkb piercing slows, stuff like grave or cold embrace that makes sven hit someone else, heavy slows. Keep him at arms length with stuff like skadi, Pike, diffusal, drow sniper and viper do this. Attack speed slows r also good, enchantress is unkillable by Sven until he gets bkb and she can punish him early with ganks.
The basic idea is if sven can't hit u then he is useless.
Problem solved:don't die before fight starts, position yourself and win.
Just beat a 5k sven who was wrecking 3 ppl at once with his blink stun mom dumb combo. Next fight I stood back and he blink stunned my earth spirit and then u hit then with the Q W R combo for the gg .
Not gonna lie the ES was freaking great tho, it helps when u have good teammates vs sven too
It doesn't matter, troll gets one bash on sven or pops satanic = dead sven. All he has to survive is 2 seconds during storm hammer if he even gets stunned in the first place. Troll man fights anyone, it's kind of like sven, you don't usually counter him with carry, you counter him with supports and kiting items.
