Aside from breaking her passives and making her a large, high-hp creep, Invisibility in general counters Spectre because as she tries to jump everyone, she can't use dust for everyone, actually, and she is very unlikely to carry a gem or dust in first place.

As a carry ,never forget to build MKB, but why MKB against Spectre? Just one thing, she builds a Radiance and that item is like a Butterfly with lesser miss chance/blind miss but provides burn damage aura, also build SnY because imo, some pro players tend to build this item to counter her

Juggernaut shits on Spectre in lane. he can kill her even from behind, in the most humiliating ways. I remember Jug kicking my ass many times. He'd just Bladefury and run into me and my creep wave, after killing them and damaging me He'd just follow me to my tower and Ulti and kill me right under it. frustrating as hell.
Spectre feeds on his Ultimate. if ganks are mostly in enemy safelane his Ultimate won't be handy. plus he sucks at jungle farming so just don't give him space.
Also necro, TB(his Ulti destroys Spectre), PL or other illusion heroes can counter him in lategame.

I've always played around with Lion against her. Being able to kill her haunt illusion instantly with Mana Drain makes sure that you don't get jumped on when she haunts. He also has a lot disable in the mid game for easy ganks. I would rather have an aggro tri against a spectre, which Lion isn't amazing at because he doesn't have amazing trading and his mana costs are really high so he has to sit back and clarity for to be useful. So in that situation you could pick Ogre, which doesn't kill illusions that well but he will steroid carries and most likely cause the carries to out damage the spectre. He's amazing in aggro trilanes, as his trading is one of the best in the game. I would recommend either of these as far as supports go.

Do you wanna counter her in lane or late game ?

In lane she's so easy to counter, most offlaners will zone her out pretty well, especially bristleback.

If she gets 6 slotted you better have a farmed lifestealer or anti mage on your team, troll silver edge works pretty nicely too.

Anything that shuts spectre down hard early game, good strong dual offlanes like undying + something, sand king is really good vs melee, axe + something, maybe lc depending.

Late game ranged heroes work well cus dispersion won't hit them for for value if at all. Sniper's really good, silver edge, break spectre, outside of dispersion range, gg. Drow not so good cus the haunt illusions will break her ult I am pretty sure.

^Sniper as the main late game specter counter ? Dude I counter sniper with specter. Almost never seen a specter losing to sniper late game ...

Sniper and Spectre are always a counter to each other for me idk about you.Spec's haunt reality abyssal manta combo makes truly Sniper a paper.Sniper on the other hand,will counter that (Depends on what he build).A good sniper will always build a Shadowblade to Silver edge and also Hurricane pike so that he can escape haunt to that 3 fingered purple freak Spectre!!!!

what are you talking about? spectre is a shitty high ground pusher and sniper's a great high ground defender. How does spec do anything late vs sniper? And it's not 1v1. If you have any stun on your team, tide, axe, earthshaker, slardar, whatever, spectre haunts and ports in on sniper way in the backline, supports are going to stun spec, sniper will pike away and start raping spectre while taking no dmg from desolate. And you can build sniper tanky too so spec can't pick him off like other supports. It's only idiot snipers who build naked deso vs spec that will always lose.

haunt and kill sniper in 1 second, be real. Sniper has a 200 hp talent, an 8 armor talent if he really wants it, often goes skadi and butterfly late game on top of pike. Sniper is not a squishy hero late game. Only shot to kill sniper that fast is haunt onto sniper alone, abyssal stun pop manta and have two illusions wreck him with desolate. But that's like any hero then.

Never had any problem against sniper as spectre

id recommend buying SE agaunst spectre for a lot of reasons as sniper. usually doesnt carry detection too

I was just using sniper as an example, now trying to derail thread, ymmv. DK would be another ok one for carrying silver edge except that dispersion and desolate are pure and ignore all that armor. Viper would be a good one too. Slark a natural silver edge carrier who will steal a ton of stats off a tanky spectre.

Any hero can deal with Spectre Early game and Mid Game,don't let the game drag on to late game that is how to deal with it nothing else , don't risk it into thinking fighting with a 6 slotted Spectre that is the worst thing you could do.

Also I'am with bwsj I can't remember the time where I had any problem as Spec against a Sniper, all this talk about Sniper getting SE but you know how much it cost to counter an SE Sniper 180 gold.

i once shat on a farmed spectre with clinkz(bkb). but his team wasn't that good so id ont know if clinkz can counter her or not
