good place to start learning the basics is to pick a hero that can kinda do everything. ie LUNA
if youre not 3k, then the easiest thing to practice is farming patterns, and also learn how to split push

I got 3k from 2500 by just learning to play Brood/Timber/Aba solo offlane.
I had been playing no other heroes and got it fast back then.
Literally either a lastpick Broodmother or Timber/Aba. Situationally.
I would choose a role, a small hero pool, which can carry games and play it non-stop.

So i set myself a goal to get to 3k mmr. But dont really know where to start yet. I feel that if have some good knowledge of the mechanics but i could be wrong :) I want to create a hero pool so I stick to some heroes and not play all of them and increase my skill. But I almost never know what heroes to pick then.
So does anyone have some pointers for me maybe based on my number from dota buff or my games on were to start to get to 3k mmr or what heroes I should focus on? I quess that's my question where should I focus on? :)
