Spamming a hero is the best way to climb mmr, he probably got bosted to 4k and the spammed his way to 5k.
His skills are so much worse than mine, and i am a casual dota 2 2k mmr player, he cant last hit, he cant stack 50% of the time, he sits on lane taking xp, i think he is the worst player i ever seen.

I never watched him play but i'm fairly certain that his reputation precedes him in games and his teammates automatically tryhard because they know they have at least one other tryhard player and the probability that he will keep the team cohesive.
if you could persuade your team to tryhard, I think you could just sit in base and you're job is already done.
