pretty sure shit like this happens in every business, sports, music especially. Anywhere there are young kids just aching for a shot and they'll sign up for anything without reading contracts etc. Just go watch straight out of Compton.

the conclusion i get after read EE's blog and and misery's blog :
1. they(misery, EE, maybe rtz, matt, zai, and the others) still not get paid half or more of their part from the past 1 and half years tournament
2. its looks like only puppey and KEMAL(Director of Team) are the "ïnsider" in secret, and the rest just "employee"
3. puppey being a d!ck to some players, like w33haa and EE (rtz and to their coach too based on what i read)
4. kemal keep delaying the salary payment and go vacation all the time xD
well i think thats the point i got.

Puppey was my role model in dota2, he is my reason to play supports 'till today, end up he just a d!ck.

Well, the whole secret is suspicious for me. I know how these kinds of organizations (different sport) function in my country and it's totally different...
It's either that organization is your employer - so you have a job contract, get paid monthly with bonuses for wins etc (should be stated in contract), employer pays your social & health insurance and so on. Player may have addictional sponsors and those can be different or duplicite than organization (team) sponsors.
Or Organization is something like your sponsor - they give you a monthly salary, but smaller and there are usually more players than roster spots. And individual players are given one-shot contracts for tournaments. This usually applies to teams and players that are on the border of being professional and amateur and players usually have their regular job (most frequently only part-time job).
But Secret organization is non-transparent, without contracts (it's fault from both sides but I would blame more those, who talk about working on important business stuff) and people involved (both employers and employees) were basicaly breaking labour code laws - who and where paid taxes from those prize money?? That may be pretty disaster if this drama gets attention and people involved may get charged for not paying their taxes!

wait secret players don't have contracts? And I don't mean like chinese players where they get locked to a team, a contract doesn't have to prevent you from leaving, but how could you not have a contract at least laying out how much you'll get paid, when you'll get paid and how to resolve grievances if you have any? Most usually have an arbitration clause so if something happened like not getting paid you could go to an arbiter and they'd force the other party to sit down and explain why before it has to go to court.
If that's the case that they don't even have in writing what their terms are then it's the players own fault. How on earth would those mvp guys quit a successful team and join secret if they weren't promised a bunch of money in writing? I find it hard to believe they would have contracts written up.
From what I understand reading the blogs, Secret players didn't have a written contract. They instead had a verbal agreement that they would get paid their prize winnings and money from sponsors, etc. Verbal agreements are legally binding as far as I know, so if the organization agreed to those conditions they have to pay up. The problem with verbal agreements is that its difficult to prove that they exist and so legal action is difficult.
@dire don't forget these are teams of kids who have never been in the real world but played competitive Dota all their life! It isn't at all surprising that some dicks come along and scam a lot of them.
I would not be surprised if organization (well, Kemal and Puppey) didn't pay taxes from income... which would put this on a whole different level...

alot of pre-teens & teen nerds idolize dota players like they are gods or think they are as sportmanship as real sports athletes, mainly because majority of dota players are idiots who only ever played dota & never experienced being good at a game. If you played any game competitvely & were part of the top players you'd know that majority of people are just idiots who happened to be good at a game.

i played wow pretty competitively, i didn't play in blizzcon or major international tournaments only small tournies that offered not much than 10k £ prizepools, so i was what you can call an equivalent of a dota pubstar to some extent & circle jerked & knew alot of known players in the scene personally to tell you that they are just a bunch of inflated egoistic morons who just act cool for the camera & twitch. ( ex: reckful if you know him )

Yes but in the case of pro athletes there is usually a system setup to kind of help them and prevent that, ie it's standard to get an agent, have a lawyer, have union representation, have a supportive family in many cases. Pro gaming? What kid is hiring a talent agent to look out for them?
