In my opinon, you should not initiate with a Sven if another Hero in your team can do that as well! I've seen some people go S&Y , too.
Some games I go greedy and buy a daedalus before bkb. Heart is also a nice bkb alternative if they have very little lockdown. Generally the key to winning with Sven is less about itemization as he is very straightforward when it comes to items and more about taking good fights. Although it is tempting to go in first with your blink stun unless you can guarantee you are going to burst someone down in the duration you are generally better off waiting a bit and either counter-initiating or follow up on allies who catch people. SNY is awful compared to sabre don't buy it unless you want to lose.
Also a handy tip is that you often don't want to blink and immediately stun as you waste the echo sabre slow. If you have bkb or the enemy has no disables it is better to blink->hit twice->hit again if you can while they are slowed->stun->finish the job.
Usually you want to end fairly early on Sven, the longer the game drags the less your networth advantage becomes relatively and as your bkb gets low it becomes extremely tough to breach high ground, especially as Sven is an awful aegis carrier.

There are some slight deviations but you forgot blink, blink is core probably 90% of games. Standard build should be treads, dominator (start stacking ancients), echo, blink, bkb if you need it, daedulus.
Don't ever build any boots other than treads or you'll have no attack speed. I had a guy rush travels once and aside from his echo hit he couldn't hit anyone and was still kited despite having travels for move speed.
Alternate builds would include armlet, ac, heart, aghs. I think s&y is inferior to echo at this point and halberd probably isn't worth it. Some people build silver edge but ew. Yuck. Don't do it.
The core treads, dominator, blink, echo are still the same, you just insert armlet, ac, heart for daedulus and bkb. So you could go treads, dominator, armlet, blink, echo, daedulus, or treads, dominator, armlet, blink, echo, AC/heart. Or treads, dominator, armlet, blink, echo, bkb. Typically those big ticket items of heart, ac, daedulus are interchangeable and armlet is something you insert into the build. When god's strength is active heart actually does more dmg to buildings than daedulus, and AC probably does more dmg to buildings than either of those too. Daedulus is literally so you can wipe out 2-5 heroes with one giant crit in a team fight. You blink, echo strike someone and get one or two crits and you've won the fight.
Aghs is worth if you are the second or even third carry on the team, have a lot of right clickers like a dk mid and a dual jugger cm off or something, then you'd probably want aghs as your 5th item after treads, dom, blink, echo.

In my recent Sven matches I haven't been quite sure how to itemise the hero. I understand there is the rather standard build. Power treads into HoTD then echo sabre BKB daedulus then AC. Upgrade HoTD to satanic. But aside from that is there any alternate build that will work. I find that after using BKB Sven is easily focused and brought down. I understand it is a misplay in my part but is there any way to solve this problem aside from better positioning as I have to ''initiate'' in my games. Please if you have any ideas tell me I'm willing to try them.
