You don't need the travels just blink away or even the 800 + enemy hero range is enough. Anyway you are right and this item is complete LoL trash as well as 95% of the new stuff especially the RTS scan.
in case u didnt read patch notes carefully, do it now. i mean change log for enchantress.
however maximum damage is only when catch 1750 unit range.
Even if you 5000 unit range away the damage is only 1750 range (385 pure damage maximum).
