If you are the first person to leave it puts you in low priority. Low priority you can only play all random normal matches and are matched with other people from low priority. You have to win x number of games to get out, based on how frequently you abandon. I think 2 is the starting point. You can also get placed in low priority from reports but it takes a lot. You get like one freebie abandon every ~20 games or so. Not sure if it's games played or calendar time like every couple weeks.
If you aren't the first person to leave the game will show a message that says x player abandoned and the game is safe to leave. If you leave then it gets counted as a loss but you won't receive any queue penalties.

for example, does it move you down from VHS to HS ? if you previously played with 5ks do u move to 4ks ? I've been abandoning games alot. Like 1 game out of 6.
