This hero is good vs windrunner, mediocre offlaner, and garbo carry. maybe next patch mate
I don't have too many games on Centaur, but I've always liked him and am glad to see that someone else is trying to make him relevant. I still think he needs a blink or some other movement based item to help land his stun (I hate using stampede to initiate and have nothing to escape with) and Mjolnir is still pretty good on him.
Mjolnir xd
U mean the active on mjolnir? Thaaaanks fucking valve alot of centaurs haveruined my games for thinking maelstrom is a good item on him
-Normal skill - yes I had to practice it on a low skill smurf because he hasn't received his major buff yet. Next patch it will be viable at the 3k+ level.
-Kiteable applies to lots of heroes. Sven is popular atm even though he is kiteable as fuck. And unlike sven he has a 4 second long max movespeed skill.
-0 farm against ranged heroes could apply to pretty much any melee safelane carry yet they still seem to get farm.
-Every game is an aggro dual lane and people pick spectre even though she couldn't win a 1v1 if the other player was one handed and blind.
-Lots of carries need lots of farm to kill people.
-The hero hits very hard and would only fall off late game against other equally OP heroes.
My predictions for a couple of potential buffs he might receive:
Further buffs to return - eg moving it up to 30/50/70/90% of strength returned as damage.
Base HP regen - eg the same 2 per second that Nyx, Axe, Ogre Magi, Night Stalker (basically the one the other offlaner type heroes received)
Stampede - deals more damage based on strength.
I would like him to be changed. Take away all the scaling shit that noone uses on him and make him a better initiator instead with a diffrent kit.
I prefer the early ganker->late-game disengage build.
Early:
Tranq
Blademail
Blink
Dagon-1
Late:
BoT II
Blademail / Shiva
Blink
Dagon-5
Heart
Aghs
without heart and blademail useless early game except init and escapes with stampede i suppose the return is godo tho

Centaur Warrunner has been absent from both pubs and professional games for a very long time now (was picked only 3 times at Shanghai and won 1/3) even though he's been buffed a little bit recently. So he is in prime position to receive another big buff in 6.87. You mark my words, I'll admit I was wrong if he is not buffed, but I can guarantee you I won't be wrong.
For reminder his return has been buffed from being reduced by damage block to not being reduced, being buffed from 50% at max level to 75% at max level. He also got a soso Aghs upgrade.
Wtih that said it's a good idea to go over an unconventional but strong build which focuses upon the strength of Centaur Warrunner's greatest strength - his strength.
I've tested out this build in this game - http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/2231156546 - and it works very well.
The core items in this build:
Bottle (sell this later)
Treads
Sange and Yasha
Heart
Abyssal
Assault Cuirass
Moonshard
This build gives Centaur Warrunner massive amounts of survivability and also a huge amount of damage so he can manfight pretty much anyone in the game.
Total Stats given =
9+16+40+10 = 75 total strength
- each hit he takes deals 56 damage back
- adds 1425 extra hp
75 damage
70 raw damage (total +145 damage)
16 agility (equal to 16 attack speed and 2.2 armour)
175 extra raw attack speed (total 191 extra attack speed)
15 armour (total 17 extra armour)
You also have almost 5 seconds of stun and the chance to proc more stuns and 120 damage, provide -5 armour to all enemies and plus 5 and 20 attack speed to all allies, have 16% extra movespeed, and a chance to slow enemies move and attack speed.
Much more effective than going tranquils, blink, blademail, pipe, aghs etc etc etc.
