because there's often a different item that's more conducive to winning the game. most games an sny would work out better than an aghs and octarine has shit buildup that you're not always going to have the luxury of finishing it or being ahead enough that you can still win fights when you have items that are suboptimal until fully complete.
it's not that either is bad, but more like they're 2nd or 3rd choice item if the 1st choice is suboptimal.
ＶｏＨｉＹｏ it increases the range and good hp/mana regen. if u dont want, u can go dragon lance then
nor aether lense neither dragon lance work on bristleback. well, lens increases the range of your first spell, but i dont see it being any useful.
regarding octarine/aghs - costs too much, by the time u get it, ur spells are not efficient anymore. also the parts of these items are not very useful for bristle.
always fun to try new builds and catch your team and enemy offguard instead of always expecting the same old build and getting countered. try also both bloodstone and octarine for unlimited mana and pocket deny xP
Aether Lens extra range also stops working on the goo once you get aghs, since aghs makes it into an aoe spell. So if you want aghs then don't get aether.
Well that's what I did, vanguard, oct, aghs. Idk why you say they have shit buildup, the only really bad part is the 2700g int thingy, 1200 for a point booster isn't much worse than 1k for ogre club s&y item. I do get they give you no dmg, but bb doesn't need dmg cus of quills and his ult giving him dmg. If you get an early soul booster with mana regen you can spam quills whenever you like. I get s&y is one of the easiest, best hp/IAS/dmg items all rolled into one with super easy build up, I am a big fan, but I don't feel aghs or soul booster are hard to build.
Blade mail is fucking awful on bb, you want enemies to hit you, and cus blade mail returns dmg after reductions it doesn't do much since bb reduces dmg from sides and back.
Anyway I'm going to try it some more, I got an ultra kill top that basically finished my soul booster for me. Going to see how it goes in a game without that big of a good spike. I didn't exactly have a fast start though, necro fed and left me really behind huskar bottom.
