The redeemed points concept is borrowed from a site where I that I used to get legal advice:
1 transaction = 1 question with an unlimited number of replies from users of a forum, replies are based on an incentive that OP can choose the response that is percieves as fitting.
Other forum users with badges (5k, 6k or 7k) could give answers and get points from OP that they can later redeem to get a discount on db, or fully pay next month's DB+ with redeemed question points.
the only way to make this a polite forum 4head
The dotabuff site is known, just like the DB+ product, I bet there's a lot of traffic AND you have 'loyal' customers who buy DB+ on a regular basis.
If use marketing correctly, you could turn DB extend the functionality of Dotabuff to include a pseudo-educational platform.
@Meka, I'm just suggesting a concept, imo there is so much one could to improve it, like there are so many ideas that DB staff can incorporate to make the DB+ package more appealing because they are already a known entity.
There should be a user panel, where I can see which threads I have commented on, which threads I've started + notification when someone replied + @ reply system.
On my profile page, others should be able to see which threads I logged my latest comments in.
+1 system for comments where reaching certain amount should award me different badges as "sane commenter", "wise" or something.
MMR has no relation to a person's personality, so quit saying such. But, visual cues for ID are a nice idea.
Really dumb idea :-) would just lead to a dead forum after a couple of months of abuse towards lower mmr players.
I could maybe see the purpose of having a 7k+ tag but stratifying the community more than that will just lead to every thread turning into 'stf up you are only x mmr'
Probably 90% of activity on this forum is from people with <5k.
Por favor, se conecte para postar comentários.
Just want to expand on what Arin suggested.
What is it?
Players should be able to verify that they are 5k, 6k or 7k using the MMR-tracking bots.
These players would have the option to show off an icon (similar to verified player or db plus icon) next to their name to other forum users.
Why
1) It would help forum users to select meaningful advice from experienced players
2) Could be used as an incentive to buy dotabuff plus if the availability of this function is limited to DB+ users.
Future prospects
You could increase site traffic and volume of DB+ sales if you set up the incentives correctly, e.g. link the previously suggested badge/icon feature to a new function.
How it could work:
Users with DB+ could ask a question on the forum, this question would differ in terms of design and how it is visually viewed on the site (i.e. highlighted in yellow). Other forum users with badges (5k, 6k or 7k) could give answers and get points from OP that they can later redeem to get a discount on db, or fully pay next month's DB+ with redeemed question points. The possibilities are endless.
