Either finding trusted middleman is the way, so middleman gets his item, and you gift him item after middleman got his offer, or just trade-gift it with trusted people.
For example, the way I got SF arms are that some of Dotabuff forum members decided to gift me the arms for my Barb Of Skadi.
I like to get hats for the heros i like to play often. It makes me feel good about them. I rarely buy stuff for me irl, so why not spend my hard earned money on something i actually enjoy. It gives them some sort of status like "this hero is important for me" or "i play this hero a lot" or "im shitting money, so what the heck i bought it all and now buy an ugly ass courier for me, u fuckin poor peasant".

As some of us already know, I got scamed for my NS bundle I got couple days ago.
I was pretty sad, not really because that I lost it, because I felt really like complete idiot/shit.
I saw NextStep got 2 bundles of NS set, so I asked him if I can have one of those..
It turns out he wanted to help me. So I got back my NS bundle because there are actually some good people.
Will repay him somehow later on, but just wanted to say that there are good parts of doto community!
Also, never go first in trading ti5 immortals.
Chances of getting scamed are big.
