Useless is not how I see it, dota has provided me with years of free entertainment and this is simply paying the outstanding debt. Honestly dota wouldn't be where it is right now without people actually purchasing the cosmetics which gives valve an incentive to improve the game but ofc these features would've probably been implemented eventually just at a later date.

Ok so last year it made 10 mil. About 4-5 mill was from those later day immortals added in that increase the prize pool quite a bit. But seriously 27 bucks for stuff you can farm with 9 bucks? I love dota 2 but they better have dota on ESPN2, instant replays, better presentation and pre-show hype and crap for it to be worth 27 bucks? or is it just me? cuz last year it was just cuz a bunch of crazy people wanting items. They only way I can see myself paying for this other than that is to give each hero some sets? Say Viper & Veno. Heck do butterfly sets for every fricken hero please! anything except these statues and loading screens.
