Valve doesn't want MMR public. If dotabuff uses their new system to circumvent that, Valve will probably step in and shut the whole thing down somehow.
could dotabuff make it a voluntary thing with the default being private, akin to dota's share/don't share stats?
Well, Dota 2 Toplist already makes it public so I don't see any reason why Dotabuff wouldn't.

What i'm asking for is Dotabuff to let us check a box "Allow public MMR display" or something, thats it, as an option to Rating Buddy feature. this way only volunteers benefit.
This could work but only if either dotabuff gets themselves a bot or they do it personally.
I would also agree with that kind of feature. So the 4k trashes can know their place.
lol the mods should come and tell people who are arguing who's higher mmr or something - they don't need to tell the exact mmr, only who's higher. would make for some seriously funny threads
