lack of water can also make you look like lifestealer
but if you're earth spirit or tiny you should avoid it or else it'll erode you and make you gather moss
im no good in english
for intro i might :
> state the advantages of drinking water and disadvantages of not drinking water.
> different water types doesnt really matter, so drink up.
> maybe end with a joke like it doesnt drown you. lol
water is so important bla bla bla bla our body is consist of 70% water bla bla bla 2 days of not drinking water may lead to death bla bla bla 1/3 of earth is water bla bla bla
im not a native speaker but i hope u get/got my idea lol
ah fuck it i'll help you out!
start with what water does to the body, isn't the body composed of around 70% water? (or smth like that).
we use water to cool ourselves (sweat), for the H bonds, to regulate salinity, etc! then you go for how much water we use per day (an approximation) and if you only drink a glass of water for breakfast+dinner what will the consequences be! considering the rest you take up is dry food (ish). Is it enough?, consequences! you need to have reserves of water too right? we use water to get rid of shit while peeing right? isn't water used to transfer heat more efficiently around the body?? what will an excess of water cause? whats the ideal ingestion (right word) of water for specific body sizes?
lol you only need the introduction? does that mean that you already did all the shit i mentioned+++?
then just list daily usage of it (without conlusion) and why its important to have a minimum of it (the reason are already there) then you open up for isn't it better to have more than less! and that's what you'll go through in the essay
4th year sociology major so all I do is write papers. The introduction and conclusion are the bread and butter of any paper and sets the pace of the body. It can be bold it can be exciting or it can be purely informative BUT do not make the mistake of choosing one and then changing the pace in the body because then the paper will not flow well. I tend to write papers in this format
research
compile
write body
write conclusion
write introduction
I've no skills as a writer or a speaker but from my observation the goal of an introduction should be interest arousing.. should lead the listener/speaker to answer the question 'why should I read (listen to) this?' 'why is this important to me?'.
All the points that Benao listed are good for the body of your essay (which you say you've already written) but too much for just the intro. I dunno.. maybe just off the top of my head.. something in the direction of:
"Water is a versatile, powerful, and beautiful substance. It is one of the most abundant compounds on the Earth and while simple in form, it expresses a number of properties that make it vital to the existence of all known forms of life and the proper functioning of our home. Let us consider some specific ways in which water is beneficial to all of us as humans and plays a unique role in supporting our quality of life."
I know, generic and maybe too short.. but maybe that gives some possible idea.
I had still remember this thing from philosophy class some time ago
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dihydrogen_monoxide_hoax
it's supposed to emphasize the importance of independent/critical thought but it's still somewhat relevant since it's about water
Thanks so much for the replies boys especially replies from Benao, Sampson, & Natsuki.
For some reason I feel more comfortable asking these kinds of questions here.
Thanks again. ☺
