Lina is bad at transition from support to carry. She can do it with some luck, but overally it's a bad idea. Also, Lina is a very bad support. She should be played somewhere at position 1-3.
I see a few pointing out Sven here, which i disagree. Sven is more of a carry, (or at least position 1-3) than support if you really picked him because he is too farm dependent to be decent/useful. There are way too many better support choices than Sven unless you randomed him and don't have a choice but to go support. Without any items, all Sven has is his stun and warcry (good early, useless late). Compare that with an ES that can already wreck teams with just a blink.
Sven and Drow. They farm quite well after level 11, even without items.
WK and Silencer are slow farmers, so it's harder to carry with them if you start as support.
Ogre does not transition well into carry, not at all. He's a nuker but that is not the same thing. Bkb destroys him and most enemy carrys will have it.
