You can build Euls Scepter for the same reason and get damage, mana regen, and further utility
euls would have just set up ice path.
im sure theres a possibility for almost every item to be a viable choice on some heroes in really rare situations, or it could be simply be that your opponents got unlucky and didnt get heroes they liked / were good with since its single draft, and you probably would have won with any item choice after orchid + sheep.
I came here for someone QQ'ing about a "noob teammate" going a bad item. Very Disappointed.

I get euls every time im against silencer/sky as storm as my 2nd item. No one expects that shit. It's pretty strong imo :)
Yeah, you guys are right about Eul's. It's just that I was playing against Jakiro when I was getting Manta. Eul's would just set me up, as Androgynous said.
