I think it has to do with spanish only having 5 vowel sounds, while english has IIRC more than ten, but still only 5 vowel letters and this leads to several pronunciation issues.
Honestly though, as much as I love it, english is probably one of the most retarded languages when it comes to how a word is written and it's pronunciation.
Malparido - "Bad born" could be used as motherfucker
Hijo de puta / Hijueputa - Motherfucker
Cara de picha / Carepicha - "Dick face", could be used as motherfucker
Pedazo de mierda - "Piece of shit" , Could be used as motherfucker
All insults are from Costa Rica, and almost everyone can be used or is used as motherfucker here. There are many, but all mean almost the same.

i speak 6 languages but the best insult i know works in any of them for spanish its "Que pasa con tu kara?" - Whats wrong withyour face? haha ;p
