It seems long when you are a spectator, but what if razor gets banned, or what if the enemy picks doom? Their don't have a plan now, so they actually have to think of a good pick. I think for them the picks are going really fast, because they are under a bit of pressure.
there's is reserved time too. Might as well use most or all of it. You never know if the other team was pocket strats or lure you into a false sense of security with bait picks.
I agree that the selection process needs to be faster. The television audience doesn't have that kind of time to waste. Nth else guys are supposed to be pros. At least get rid of th reserve time please.
teams have a lineup in mind, and that lineup will change depending on the response of the other team
besides if u dont ban it at the right time, whats to stop the other side from using a hotly contested hero?
We don't have a tv audience to worry about. And for me, picks/bans are the most interesting part of the game. It's cool to see a strategy unfold.

In the internationals, why do the teams take so long in the pick and ban phase when we already know that they'll pick/ban Razor, Mirana, Brew, Doom, Ember, Void, and Naga Siren?
