well, i have a girlfriend, i have a decent job and i am on the college and still have time to play, so... i guess when children come
^People consider playing dota as a "dota career" just like how being a student is your "student career" even though you arent a "pro student" getting paid to study.
I will retire when I:
A) Lose my ability to use a decent computer
B) Become paralyzed
C) Stop being addicted
Is anyone here getting a salary for playing dota? Playing 1 game per week instead of 5 per day is really not that big deal.
as im kind of on vacation from college right now i have plenty of time for dota but ill get an intership or some shit like that this year so ill probably be playing less and less as time goes by
I have...
>A job
>A girlfriend
>A son
>I am also in University
...and still get about 50+ hours a week in. No retirement in sight :)

Yeah sure. It's amazing how deluded some people are.
It's seriously tiring though and I am perpetually tired and fall asleep in class tons.
I'm 33, and have been gaming since I was 6. I will never stop gaming in some form or another.
When I feel like I don't want to continue or I genuinely don't have anymore free time for games. I don't see that happening anytime soon.
@wink
When you are a student, that is in fact your career. Most students (myself included) are too stupid to realize it in the moment.
I haven't played in 3 weeks so maybe I am retired.
It's all about time management though, you think people who have jobs and kids never do anything to relax? Like you get a job and you stop watching tv/reading/going out altogether? A dota match only takes 30-60 mins, if you want to keep playing forever I'm sure you'll find time, you just might not play 10 matches a day anymore.
I have a great job, married, 2 year old and I still play video games 20 hours a week. Kids sleep, wives have their own hobbies, jobs are 40 hours a week unless you have a shitty one.

i will retire dota 2 after passing my CE board exam and get a decent job after that :)
