best recent game
i read your guide quite some time ago :D
also watched some replays
Starting Items: All seems fine.
Game Start: You harass slardar a lot and try a few denys but your timing is just off. you miss the first last hit of the game and your harass. when you try to deny you miss a last hit for your self. slow it down. let the lane go at your pace and just keep the creeps in the middle by pulling agro. at 1:20 you sunstrike and i think that is a waste. had it hit, he would just go behind the tower and pop his salve. that was nearly half your mana right there. you then pop a salve at 2:04 which was not needed. one more level up and a second level in quas would do you fine. 3:08 - first could have been right there had you cold snap sooner you would have gotten the extra hit off for the kill. you could have taken about five tower hits which is about two auto attacks and lived. 4:19 good job on the cold snap. his animation for stun takes took long and he die easily. however he is out of lane and you still miss last hits. you also should go check for the rune since he is dead and won't be back for a bit. he comes back and you harass some more. when PA comes in your lane though, you have trouble last hitting again. 19/10 @ 7 minutes are not the beast stats. the attempted kill failed but was a good attempt none the less. 7:10 you have a dd rune. you go mid for the gank but show yourself to the tower and get some hits on you. the cold snap worked but you were too close and got stunned. since slar was trying to last hit the wagon, you should have sunstriked him to weaken him (guaranteed ss since he will try to last hit wagon), and with PAs slow yall would have finished him off. so now your dead. and you're chatting with the other team. you should be scouting the enemy team. see who has what items and what health they are at. save you mana by sunstrike before you tp in or wait until it is a guaranteed path it towards their tower for safety. the kill was still achieved. gj. 9:12. clinks goes invis after you snapped him. you random sunstrike. no good. turn quas on, walk to tower. if he re attacks, then you ss. cold snap duration is not long enough to set up a sunstrike in a single position. 9:50 good attempt at ss. little more awareness this time. 11 minute midas. i would have considered something different at this point in the game. again with the random sunstrikes. what you need to do is set the sunstrike ahead, and once he steps on the spot, then you cold snap him. that will ensure it hits. he goes invis once you snap him so try to ss when you can see him. 12:04 you try to sunstrike an already secure kill. your greed gets you ganked while you are not looking. if your going to sun strike, tell invoker to walk towards the towards as you scout the area. at least then you're not a sitting duck. you come back. fail sunstrike again. you set sunstrike, then blast into the sunstrike. it takes timing. you also skilled ice wall and i think you wanted coldsnap. rando wall gets dropped. why dont you have dust. at this point you should realise the only way to beat clinks it to have visibility while he is cold snapped so he cannot get away. you were still invoking coldsnap with dust which is useless. we are also 13 minutes into the game and i havn't seen forged spirits once. these are good to leave in the lane as you walk to base so you can last hit with them and not lose any farm. i farm about 2 creep waves with a forged spirit while i go heal. extra 10 cs everytime sounds nice? 13:52 - nice gank but clinks was there. it happens. 15:02 good sunstrike. 16:00 good kill. he should have killed you in all honesty but didnt use carapace. lucky you. 16:15 - blast failed. cold snap has quite the range on it. you would have been able to snap him and let pa clean it up. clinks gets you and NP, you buyback for a sunstrike that fails because PA daggers him. you have to assess all of this before you even buy back. now you have wasted LOTS of gold. more death on next respawn. less gold for a while. you had vision of slardar the whole time as well. he would have been a better choice. 17:30 clinks starts fucking you up. you ghost walk. good job. 17:39 sunstrike could not have kill him. wasted ss. 19:00 yall had a decent fight. as you chase down drow, kotl stutter backwards. you should have cold snapped him stead of drow. drow was already a secure death so the snap was not needed for him. 20:07 - you see spike on nyx dont attack him. this death was avoidable. 22:57 good fight prior. you drop metor on a sprouted nyx and then sunstrike somewhere he cant walk. 24:23 - you die and give them the gem back. this death could have been avoided. 27:38 - was there a plan here? you cycloned him, followed by a mistimed nado with no other spells at hand. you should be setting your combos up as you travel between lanes. 31:01 - clinks had a gem. im sure you didnt see this. you decided to try to ghost walk away from your team mates. had you ran towards NP\PA, you might have live. you were also facing a 4v1 situation so im not sure it was needed for you to run anyways. blah blah stuff hapens. okay. we are now at minute 38. you have phase boots, a midas, eul's, scepter, and a force staff. you should have had this 10 minutes ago with that midas. but everything was delayed because of your deaths. you need to work on your KDA alot. less deaths = more money for you and less for your enemy. also, you're not even doing the cheap ass euls, metor, sunstrike and blast combo. does massive damage and could help ensure some kills. 40:25 you nado him but dont take the gem. then as you escape you eul's yourself to set up the perfect stun for him. stop using eul's so defensivly. you're killing yourself most of these times. 43:00 you need forge spirits out during these fights. you losing out on a lot of damage. at this point you have a 31-4-3 clinks on the other side and i don't think there is much to do. 44:02 clinks kill for 1175 gold and he is gone for 99 seconds. push. wooooo! omg. you just blew a metor and blast on a single creep wave. now nyx has an easy kill on you. your forge spirits then decide to go attack the tower instead of killing nyx. a little micro and nyx woulda been dead. then the bb for ss only to be denied again by a PA dagger. you should have learned by now. 47:20 - yall get top tower racks and and four kills. slardar is bottom lane trying to finish base. you have invoker and dark seer top. you have to base race him. you have the advantage but instead yall go for middle. you get the tower but slardar is still fucking your base up. i think yall could have ended the game right here. you also are not carrying a tp on you and you walk all the way back to base to contest slar. lot's of wasted time. yall ended up pushing mid, getting two pick offs and finishing the game for an easy 3v5 last fight. i would not you did not use alacrity while clinks was bkbed and you where attacking him.
notes: your general KDA needs to be better. for this beign one of you best recent games, you should have 2 - 3 deaths with 16 - 18 kills. double digits deaths is a no no. there were several avoidable deaths and that would have put your team over the top and ended the game a lot quicker
learn to time ss with eul's. you missed it and all you need to do is watch the enemy spin once and then cast sun strike. it will hit everytime.
if you get scepter, you need to be doing 5+ spells combos. otherwise it is a waste of money.
give blink a try out on him. i see you like force staff on him and if you try out blink with ice wall you can get a lot more accurate walls. also helps general mobility. sometimes, force is needed over blink. just depends on the situation.
practice last hits in a lobby with no items and quas. learn to last hit with out exort or a blades of attack. then when it is time to play it will be nothing. also practice with your forged spirits. again, that extra cs goes a long way.
i like starting with a blades of attack like you but also consider four mantles. i have found that it makes last hitting very easy, harrasing sting a lot more, and you still get blades in the same amount of time. that setup would have handled mid.
better rune management. if you are mid, control the runes. send forge spirits to go deny them. push the lane so you can check them. ect
when you are dead, look at enemy items. sometimes you have to change your build on the fly.
practice mode, -wtf drop 7 spell combos like it's your birthdday. you need perfect accuracy
i like how you are constantly changing orbs. some peope forget and don't use quas when they need health or wex when they travel and so on. good job there.
carry dust on you when needed. dust is more important than your fancy new item. and tp scrolls. ALWAYS have a tp scroll on you no matter what.
last hits, lane equaliberium, harass without getting harassed and watch your onw replays. you will see mistakes you didnt think happened.
good luck bro
Try practising on wtf mode using combos and get used with ur hotkeys so u dont need to look on ur skills while doing combos queue ur spells on how it really fits u and u will Improve ur kda and win ratio:)
if you watched his replays, he does not look at spells. he also has combos invoked already. and seems pretty familar with hit hot keys too.
You can watch my replays I played a lot of it in very high bracket.
Upd: ok I was played last game 2 months ago. No replays allowed.
yeah my combos and mechanic stuff are pretty rusty.my Carl had better days, and that was really one of the weaker games, but it was the only one with invoker this patch
either way,i have learnt a ton by reading everything.
thank you
thank you
thank you ! :)
the thing with invoker is that even if you're excellent at lasthitting, when playing against someone with a better animation and quicker missile speed (qop, sniper, anyone) you are fucked,he'll just take all the lasthits and deny everything you have .
No I actually watched some of his replays and the things he did were questionable, by that I only mean the last hit/deny....but his thinking of which and what skill to invoker is mind blowing at times....I realized that in some of his videos the way he times his spell for a combo before using them is hard....and not time as in you eul scepter someone etc but the invoke timing and how he can use it amazingly unlike many people...
Invoker is all about thinking Ahead of time.
You dont need clear voiance but something that most people miss is how to plan your invokes.
Dont just think about the first and second skill your about to use but the ones after that, and after that.
Dont confuse this with Combos as that is something else.

so basically, any experienced players that would be willing to take a look over some of my invoker games and give me some advice are welcome
i'm looking to improve on him and I need someone else's perspective on how and what should I do to accomplish my goal
cheers
