Pubbies hate towers. They hate them so much they don't even bother to go defend them when they are getting pounded to the ground. Then, when it's in red hp they realize "HOLY SHIT! WE ARE GOING TO GIVE AWAY FREE MONEY TO THEM". But then it's too late and they activate the glyph...after the tower was destroyed. True story.
Sometimes fortifying a tower that will fall anyway is stupid because it allows the enemy to push the second one instantly.
i'm too anxious to use glyph when it's the right time since i'm worried someone will yell about it ;-;

One thing I've always wondered is, why does no one know how to use Glyph of Fortification properly? Also why do people never use it early game, or forget to use it. Of course I'm talking solo/duo pubs cause I don't have friends (add me and I'll give handjobs! uhhh yeahh, useast tho)
Maybe my map awareness is better than most but I've seen way too many towers die for no reason with Fort up. It would seem like a retardedly simple thing to learn.
