Lets hear some of your idea for new heroes!
Heres mine, it's influenced by WoW elemental shaman. The idea requires great micro work and the initial hero himself is nothing more then a rightclicker, he requires the skills of his elemental summons to dish out damage, save allies, and control teamfights.
Elemental Summoner:
Similar playstyle to Warlock, Elemental Summoner calls upon the 4 elements to summon Fire, Water, Earth, and Air elementals which each have their own abilities.
Initial Hero Abilities:
Q= Summon Fire Elemental
W= Summon Water Elemental
E= Summon Earth Elemental
R= Summon Air Elemental
U= Elemental Summoner infuses all 4 elements to become a master of all 4 elements. Gaining the Q ability from each elemental but with an increased effect.
Info: Only one elemental can be summoned at a time. When an elemental is dismissed, any effects it may have had or abilities casted disappear with it.
Fire Elemental:
Q = Cast a fireball in a 300 AOE that has an inital impact damage and has a DOT burn for foes who stand in the area it hit.
W= Cast on an ally, increases their damage for 5 attacks, each attack adds a DOT burn. (Similar to ancient Apparition)
E= Passive: Allys near the fire elemental have their damage increased
Water Elemental:
Q = Cast a healing circle AOE. Allys in the circle are healed over time, enemies in the circle who are healed by their teammates receive nothing.
W = Envelop an ally in a water shield that lasts 30 seconds. The shield has 5 stacks, each attack by an enemy is reduced by 50% and heals the ally targeted hero for 200. (Similar to Treant Protector)
E = Passive: Allies near the water elemental increase healing abilities by 30%
Earth Elemental:
Q= create an aoe mudslide that slows the movement of enemy targets in it. The more they walk the more mud they tack onto themselves (Similar to Batrider)
W= Create a stone shield on an ally with 5 stacks. Each attack you receive reflects the damage back at the enemy and has a minibash effect (Similar to Nyx Assassin).
E= Passive: Allies near the earth elemental have their armor increased
Air Elemental:
Q= Create an aoe area that has high winds that occasionally damage enemies. The air is also so strong that enemies are often pushed throughout the area making it difficult to navigate to the target within it. (Similar to Invoker's deafening blast where enemies are pushed but can still cast and move their way inward)
W= Create a shield of air on your ally target with 5 stacks, increases movement and attack speed and has a 50% miss chance for enemies that attack you. a stack is still removed if they miss.
E= Allies near the air elemental have their attack speed and movement speed increased.
Elemental Summoner Ultimate:
The elemental Summoner's summons are replaced by their Q ability for 30 seconds. The elemental summoner can cast all 4 abilities with an increased effect.
Obviously the idea is hypothetical but I think it'd be a great and difficult hero to master, similar to invoker, the utility offered would be immense and fun. He's a bit of everything and more. And obviously all abilities would need tweaking, maybe not even viable but something of the sort with much more thought could be potential.
