It's on my to-do-list for this evening. Not that DotA has any performance problems with dx11, but heck, why not... testing a non-proprietory API seems like a good thing to do, and you can change it back at any time.

Test it out first in overthrow or spectate a game or something it's still in beta I think and I get some stutters sometimes, but it's very promising so far.

Tried it on the immortal gardens terrain (the one that lowered the fps by like 40 lol). Now I'm back at 100avg fps from the normal 60 on that terrain, fucking awesome honestly. It probably does even more on normal terrains but im too lazy to test.
Updated to the latest nvidia driver (the one they released this afternoon) and now even with 100 fps the game feels like i'm having 20 on vulkan. I'll just switch back to dx11 until they fix this since it's apparently a known issue.
I tried it out (Geforce GT 730M) and my screen was blinking, and it overally wasn't that good for performance anyway
I used to have 110 fps on average before battle pass, then I had 40-60 when battle pass was introduced. Today I tried Vulkan and it's back up in 110 fps average. I'd say, give it a try and maybe it will be good.
While spectating: ~100 fps with DX, ~110 fps with Vulkan. Which is somewhat weird since my graphics driver should cap all rendering at 60 fps... doesn't seem to work in DotA ^^

I had them as well but now I don't have them anymore
I also had some after updating graphics drivers usually after casting spells, or moving camera somewhere fast, but after spectating some games and playing it went away.
i mean the game just randomly freezes for like half a second (or more if theres a big fight going on)
i played overthrow at first when i activated it and it was fine, but not better than dx, at least i dont see any difference
but then it slowly starts stuttering more and more
Had a weird graphics glitch for a minute, where the river texture could be seen on other surfaces. Nothing remarkable besides that.

So Valve added Vulkan support today and I enabled it and tried in game and I'm pretty sure I'm having a little bit higher fps, especially in team fights ~10-15fps more maybe. I thought this might be helpful for some people who want to have higher fps and have capable hardware.
Technical notes:
* Please make sure to opt-in to the Steam Client Beta for the latest Steam Vulkan Overlay (fixes performance issue with Steam Overlay).
* Enable with the -vulkan launch option after downloading the Vulkan Beta DLC. Remove -dx9/-dx11/-gl (if present) from any previous launch options.
Minimum requirements:
- Windows 7/8/10 64-bit: NVIDIA 600-series+ (365.19+ driver), AMD 7700+ (Crimson 16.5.2.1+ driver)
- Linux 64-bit: NVIDIA 600-series+ (364.16+ driver), AMD GCN 1.2 (16.20.3 driver)
- 2GB of GPU memory required - may experience crashes with < 2GB of GPU memory.

* There is a known issue on Linux with NVIDIA GPUs where tearing can be observed even when vertical sync is enabled. NVIDIA is aware of the issue and it will be fixed in the future through a driver update.
That's how you enable it.
1. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE LATEST GRAPHICS DRIVER!!!
2. Check if your GPU supports Vulkan API. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vulkan_(API)#Hardware_compatibility
3. Right click on DotA, click properties, go into DLC, check Vulkan support.
4. Now this is not going to work instantly, so you need to open your DotA 2 launch options and type -vulkan, click OK and close it.
5. Now your game is running on Vulkan. LUL
